WOW, just WOW the offers of support for fostering has been amazing! Thank you all so much for the offers! We currently have quite a few people waiting for foster opportunities. We are also always looking for volunteers at the sanctuary (especially to help walk dogs).
Thank you again!

Aloha Big Island Rainbow Friends Supporters!
We have a pressing need for people to foster kittens until they are old enough to have their spay/neuter and be adopted out. One of the great programs at Rainbow friends is to foster any pregnant cats (sometimes feral) so that when the mom gives birth we can get her and all of the kittens spayed/neutered thus keeping the cat population down.
We try to have these kittens fostered in a home environment to make the kittens more sociable and easily adoptable. We usually have no problem getting the kittens adopted out, but just don't have enough space or time to give these young kittens a chance to be socialized.
If you would be interested in fostering a mom cat or just a kitten (or two) for a couple of weeks until they are large enough let us know.
Message us through Facebook if you are interested in helping out or have any questions.

Please help us in supporting the rebuilding of the cat gardens for 3 of our larger catteries. Our catteries are in tip top shape, but unfortunately last year we had to close off the cats access to their outdoor areas due to the effects of our wet climate. We are starting to rebuild the outdoor spaces under roof. One of the garden rooms is in good shape, but the other 2 need to be rebuilt from the ground up. We have volunteer labour for all of the work and just need help with the materials which we have estimated to be about $4000. This will almost double the usable space for the cats in our care in these catteries. The cats will be very excited to have this space back (thought they would never show it).
